RTT1: 7 DAYS WESTERN KENYA CLASSIC

DAY 1: NAIROBI - KISUMU
Leave Nairobi in the morning, have lunch at Kericho. Walk in the tea plantations then drive via Lwanda Magere (the Luo warrior who was killed and turned into a stone), continue to Kisumu for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: NDERE ISLAND NATIONAL PARK - KAKAMEGA
After breakfast drive to Kaloka beach, take a boat to Ndere Island National Park to see some game and bird life. Row the boat back to Kaloka beach.
Drive via Kit-Mikaye (this rock is where Mikaye, the mother of Luo tribe, sheltered herself after along journey down the Nile) back to Kisumu for lunch.
In Kisumu the tour takes you to the home of USA President Barrack Obama in Nyangoma Kogelo village, Impala National Park. Drive to Kakamega, arriving late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: KAKAMEGA FOREST - KISUMU
After breakfast, full day exploration of Kakamega Forest in search of birds, butterflies and animals such as de brazza monkey, colobus, blue and red tailed monkeys and olive baboons. Over 30 varieties of snakes, including the deadly gaboon viper, jamesons mamba and black mamba, are found here among other animals. Great and very old indigenous trees, some are hundreds of years old. Drive to Kisumu for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: KISUMU - HOMA BAY
Leave Kisumu after breakfast, drive southwards through rice plantations in Kano Plains to Odino Falls and after a brief stop, continue to Kendu bay for lunch. Proceed to Simbi Nyaima for bird viewing in this small lake, and then onwards to Kanjira and Kanam Hot Springs before continuing to the small town of Homa Bay for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: HOMA BAY - RUSINGA - MBITA
Drive to Rusinga, do a tour of the Island to the historical places including the museum (where the remains of the first man were found) by Doctor Louise Leakey, visit the Tom Mboya Mausoleum where this accomplished nationalist cum-politician was buried. After his assassination on a Nairobi street.
Return to Mbita for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: MBITA- RUMA NATIONAL PARK – AWENDO
Depart after breakfast, drive through hills and meandering road to Ruma National Park with a picnic lunch, do game drive then drive out to Thim Lich Ohinga onto Gogo Falls then to Awendo for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7: AWENDO – NAIROBI
Depart Awendo, driving through sugar plantations to Tabaka where you can buy Kisii soapstones - for this is the home of these famous carvings. Partake of lunch en route then proceed to Nairobi where you arrive in the late.

RTT2: 7 DAYS RIFT VALLEY HIGHLIGHTS

DAY 1: NAIROBI - LAKE BARINGO
Depart early morning for Lake Baringo, the birds’ paradise.

DAY 2: LAKE BARINGO - LAKE NAKURU
After breakfast leave for Lake Nakuru National Park. The home of the white rhino and the rothschild giraffe. We pass through the Lake Bogoria Hot Springs and arrive in your Lake Nakuru Lodge on time for lunch. Afternoon game drive to look for the rarely spotted leopard. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

DAY 3: LAKE NAKURU - LAKE NAIVASHA
After breakfast you leave for Lake Naivasha to check in to your lodge. Game drive enroot.

DAY 4: NAIVASHA
Time at leisure with bountiful optional activities like visiting Crater Lake(the green algae lake) or visiting Elsamere, the home of Joy Adamson who kept a lioness called Elsa. They show a video of 45 minutes, then the rest of the time you use to have their continental evening tea with variety of snacks as you view the beautiful white colubus monkeys that frequent this place and lots of birds.
You also have an opportunity to walk to the nearby Hell's Gate National Park which is the only park where you can walk on foot or by bike.

DAY 5: LAKE NAIVASHA - MAASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
After breakfast, you leave with picnic lunch for the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The word mara means spotted bushes or plains. Check in to your lodge then evening game drive. Overnight in the lodge.

DAY 6: MAASAI MARA
Quality morning game drive to look for the animals that are easily spotted during morning hours. After lunch an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

RTT3: 8 DAYS MOUNT KENYA ADVENTURE

DAY 1: NAIROBI
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi. Pick up by our courtesy bus to hotel. Dinner and overnight at the Nairobi Serena Hotel.

DAY 2: NAIROBI - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE
Approximately 343 km North East of Nairobi lies the Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. A drive through the Rift Valley and the highlands takes you to this reserves which are unparalled in Kenya for the number and diversity of its game. After lunch, time to relax before heading out on a game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Serena Lodge.

DAY 3: SAMBURU AND BUFFALO SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK RESERVES.
Morning and afternoon game drives are provided. Among the wildlife are the various antelopes and all the Big Five (i.e Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo). All the meals and overnight at the Samburu Serena Lodge.

DAY 4: SAMBURU - ABERDARES NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, depart for Nyeri arriving in time for lunch. For clients staying at Treetops Hotel lunch is served at the Outspan Hotel and for those staying at the Ark, lunch is served at the Aberdare Country Club. After lunch, a transfer is provided to either Treetops or the Ark, which are strategically situated for night game viewing. Dinner and overnight at Treetops/Ark.

DAY 5: ABERDARES(TREETOPS) - LAKE NAKURU
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive takes us round the Lake; home of the famous pink flamingo. Lake Nakuru is truly an ornithologist's paradise. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Nakuru Lodge or Sarova Lion Hill.

DAY 6: LAKE NAKURU - MAASAI MARA
Awoken by the most natural alarm clock (birdlife) for breakfast then the unforgettable journey to Maasai Mara Game Reserve via Narok and Olkurruk, where the Maasai culture is displayed by the Oloo Lolo Maasai Cultural Association and thereafter into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Being at the northern stretch of the world famous Serengeti National Park, it is the scene of the teeming wildebeest and zebra migration. On arrival relax by the pool. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

DAY 7: MAASAI MARA
Morning and afternoon game drives are provided. Among the wildlife seen are wildebeest, black rhino, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, great herds of antelope and fascinating primates such as the red-tailed monkey. Game drives in open land rovers and bush walks with excellent resident guides and naturalists reveal the wonders of the Mara in an interpretative experience for you. All meals and overnight at Sopa Lodge.

DAY 8 : MAASAI MARA - NAIROBI
Depart early for Nairobi via Narok and ascend the escarpment to the Central Highlands.
A full day is spent in Nairobi with an option to:

    * see traditional dancers at the Bomas of Kenya,
    * visit the nearby Nairobi National Park,
    * visit the Karen Blixen Museum and the ostrich farm,
    * see the animals at the orphanage or
    * shop in the bustling metropolis of the city.

RTT4: 12 DAYS TANZANIA IN DEPTH

DAY 1: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Depart for Amboseli where you have a chance to see the large groups of elephants. This is also the park that is next to Mount Kilimanjaro. After checking in, have lunch then evening game drive.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK - LAKE MANYARA
After breakfast, take our packed lunch and drive through the Namanga border to arrive on time in our Lake Manyara Serena Lodge. Have an evening game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

DAY 3: LAKE MANYARA - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, leave for Serengeti National Park. The home of wildebeest. You check in to your Seronera Wildlife Lodge. The park is famous with the migration of the wildebeest from Maasai Mara.The word Serengeti comes from a masai word "siringet" to mean an endless plain. Other attractions in this park are like volcanic stones refered to as "copjes". The stones are believed to have been formed as a result of a solidified lava flow from Ngorongoro Crater as it was being formed. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight in the lodge.

DAY 4: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Morning game drive to explore the park further as you look for the big five and other animals.

DAY 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - NGORONGORO CRATER
We leave for Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Game drive enroot. You have picnic lunch on the way.
You descend for afternoon gamedrive in the Crater which has been ranked as one of the wonders of the world. Its also the home of 9 black rhinos. There are also all the big five. Only giraffes and topis are not in the Crater.

DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER - ARUSHA
After breakfast you descend for morning game drive in the Crater to explore the conservation more. After lunch you leave for Arusha to check in Impala Hotel. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 7: ARUSHA - DAR-ES-SALAAM
After breakfast leave for Dar-es-Salaam to stay in Holiday Inn Hotel. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 8: DAR-ES-SALAAM - ZANZIBAR
After breakfast take 10:00hrs ferry to Zanzibar the land of spices.
You check in Amaan Annex in Kendwa on the Northern Beaches.

DAY 9: Zanzibar
Time at leisure with lots of optional activities like basking on the sun, diving, deep fishing, snorkelling, and sunset cruise.

DAY 10: NUNGWI (NORTHERN BEACHES) - STONE TOWN
After breakfast you get transferred to Stone Town to discover more treasures of Zanzibar.

DAY 11: Zanzibar
Time at leisure with lots of optional activities like spice tour, prison island, swimming with the dolphins. Make sure you eat in the Forodhani market also known as open food market that is opened as from 17:30hrs to past midnight.

DAY 12: STONE TOWN - AIRPORT
After breakfast get transferred to the airport to fly to Nairobi.

DAY 9: KAMPALA - BWINDI (530 km)
After breakfast, your guide will drive you through the rolling green hills of the Switzerland of Uganda (Kabale) with beautiful scenery and terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas. The Montane Forest also attracts spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. The nature walk will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and you'll have a chance to see primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue monkeys and others species. Overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented Camp. (Full Board)

DAY 10: BWINDI – GORILLA TRACKING
Gorilla tracking. Take with you lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours with Park Guides interpreting the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon relax at the Camp or an option of taking a forest walk. Overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented Camp. (Full Board)

DAY 11: BWINDI - KAMPALA (530km)
After breakfast, depart Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Kampala having lunch en route and arriving at Kampala Serena Hotel in the evening. (B/B)

DAY 12: KAMPALA CITY TOUR
Very small and crowded but has some hidden treasures that are not found in other parts of the world. You will discover why it is called "the pearl of Africa" in your city tour. The end of your trip is a evening transfer to Entebbe Airport.

RTT 7: 10 DAYS THE BEAUTIES OF UGANDA

Trip highlights: Lake Mburo, gorilla tracking in Bwindi, boat trips and game drives in Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth National Park, visiting the Batwa in Bwindi and Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest.




DAY 1: Arrival Entebbe - Kampala (42km)
On arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our Uganda representative from Churchill Safaris who will then transfer you to Kampala for the over night at either IVYS or Sheraton Hotel.

DAY 2: Kampala – Lake Mburo (230 km)
After breakfast, depart Kampala for Lake Mburo National Park having a stop to look at the Royal Drum makers, the Equator - where you will be able to stand and be on both hemispheres at once, having a game drive while entering the park arriving in the evening. Lake Mburo is an extension of the Tanzanian Plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other savannah species. For birders, this is one of the best places to find African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike, etc. Go for an evening game drive. Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp. (Full Board)

DAY 3: Mburo - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (approx. 6.5 hours drive)
After breakfast, you will have a game drive as you depart Mburo for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Best known for its Mountain Gorillas. The Montane Forest also attracts spectacular birds. There are 23 of the 24 Albertine Rift endemics including the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon and other beautiful forest species. You may decide to relax in the afternoon or take a nature walk (at an extra cost of $20 p.p.) which will lead you to the Munyaga Waterfall and get a chance to see primates such as the Grey Cheeked Mangabey Blue Monkeys and others species. Overnight in Lake Kitandara’s Tented Camp (Full Board). You will need to have a good night’s rest to get ready for the following day’s gorilla tracking.

DAY 4: Gorilla Tracking - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
(There is an option of tracking in Nkuringo the southern sector of Bwindi or Rwanda as well).
This morning you will have to wake up very early to get ready for Gorilla tracking. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. There are now only 650 left in the world! The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but its well worth the effort. There are always park guides with you who interpret the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. In the afternoon relax at the camp or go for a village walk to visit the local Batwa community, returning to the Camp in the evening (at an extra cost of $15p.p.). DAY 5: Bwindi - Queen Elizabeth National Park (approx. 4 hours drive)
After breakfast, you will depart Bwindi for Queen Elizabeth National Park having a game drive while entering the park arriving in the afternoon. Relax around the pool after lunch and later go for an early evening game drive.
Its little wonder that Queen Elizabeth boasts one of the highest biodiversity ratings of any game park or reserve in the world, from the open Savannah to Rain Forest, dense Papyrus Swamps and brooding Crater Lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward.
Almost 100 mammal species that include Lions, Hippos, Buffaloes, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Elephants and the elusive Giant Forest Hog plus remarkable 606 bird species that include the Black Chested Eagle, the Swallow Tailed Bee Eaters, to mention but a few.
The Primates include Chimps, Black and White Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons.
Reptiles are: the amazing huge Rock-Python, Puff adders, Spitting Cobras, Gabon Rippers, Green Mambas, and Turtles etc. All these are regularly sighted around the tourist village on the Mweya Peninsula and all this makes a superb safari territory.

Queen Elizabeth Park has various species of birds including the Shoebill Stork, Black Bee-Eater, Chappirs Fly Catcher, Bustards, and craters full of Lesser Flamingos etc. Over night at King fisher Lodge Kichwamba. (Full Board)

DAY 6: Queen Elizabeth
This morning, we will have a game drive to the Kisenyi area to look for Lion prides and other wildlife like the Uganda Kob that mate around this area returning at the lodge for breakfast.
Then go for the afternoon boat trip along the Kazinga Channel. Hippos huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, Buffalos linger in the shallows, a tremendous variety of birds grace the grasses on the shores. Great White and Pink-Backed Pelicans, Great and Long-Tailed Cormorants, Open-Billed Stork, African Jacana, Malachite and Pied Kingfishers are commonly seen. February and March offer spectacular sightings of some of the bird migrants. Spend the night at King fisher Lodge Kichwamba. (Full Board)

DAY 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park - Kibale (approx. 3-4 hours drive)
Have a morning game drive and later head for Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed monkey and Red Colobus. In the afternoon, you will go for Chimpanzee tracking in the forest, get a chance to see other species like the Grey-Throated Flycatcher, Masked & Black-Capped Apalis, Chestnut-Winged Starling, Orange-Tufted & Tiny Sunbirds, a good infrastructure and variety of interesting activities which makes this a worthwhile destination returning in time for dinner. Dinner and over night at Ndali Lodge, a stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled "Mountains of the Moon". (Full Board)

DAY 8: Kibale National Park - Murchison Falls (approx. 7 hours drive)
After breakfast, you are on your way to Murchison Fall National Park. This is a long drive as you travel north through the Rwenzori’s and the evergreen tea estates but well worth it.. Once you reach the Nile in the heart of the Park you will cross on the ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge.
The sight of the Nile River, the world's longest river, winding its way through the park and plunging through a narrow gap is unforgettable.
Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge which overlooks the mighty Nile where Hippos wallow in the water and is on the north bank. (Full Board)

DAY 9: Murchison Falls.
After breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive to the rolling plains where you have chances of viewing Lions, Giraffe, Hartebeest, Buffalo and Elephant as well as many of the other mammals of the park. For the birders amongst you, these areas support the Secretary Bird, Black Chested Snake Eagle, Tawny and Marshal Eagles Carmine and Swallow Tailed Bee-Eaters, to pick just a few. This is a beautiful drive across Borassus Palm Forest and grassland savannah down to Lake Albert where the Albert Nile heads north to the Sudan.
In the afternoon, go for a boat trip to the foot of Murchison Falls where the Nile thunders through a small 7-meter gap, or down river to the delta where the Nile empties into Lake Albert. This is an experience not to be missed! The banks of the Nile are home to many species. You may see huge Nile Crocodiles, big Pods of Hippos and other wildlife that may come down to drink from the river. Overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge. (Full Board)

DAY 10: Murchison Falls - Kampala (approx. 6 hours drive)
Early game drive to the Top of Murchison Falls where you can have a close look in to the gorge where the Nile squeezes in to a 7 meter gorge dropping 40 meters. The falls are spectacular and thunderous with a beautiful rainbow displayed on sunny days.
Later drive back to Kampala and transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home.

RTT9: 9 DAYS MOUNT KENYA/MARA/BARRACK OBAMA HOME ADVENTURE

DAY 1: NAIROBI
Arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Transfer to your Nairobi Hotel Comfort Inn on Bed and Breakfast. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

DAY 2: NAIROBI - SAMBURU GAME RESERVE
Approximately 343 north east of Nairobi lays the Samburu and Buffalo Springs National Reserves. A drive through the Rift Valley and the highlands takes you to this reserves which are unparallel in Kenya for the number and diversity of its game. After lunch, time to relax before heading out on a game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Serena Lodge on Full Board basis.

DAY 3: SAMBURU AND BUFFALO SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK RESERVES
Morning and afternoon game drives are provided. Among the wildlife are the various antelopes and all the Big Five (i.e. Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Rhino and Buffalo). All the meals and overnight at the Samburu Serena Lodge.

DAY 4: SAMBURU – LAKE NAIVASHA
After breakfast, proceed to Lake Naivasha arriving in time for lunch. You can take a boat ride in this spectacular only fresh water lake in the Rift Valley or visit the nearby Hell’s Gate National Park in Kenya. The only park that you can go by bike or on foot. Lake Naivasha is truly an ornithologist's paradise with more 300 species of birds. Dinner and overnight at the Lake Naivasha Sarova Lodge(Full Board).

DAY 5: LAKE NAIVASHA - MAASAI MARA
Awoken by the most natural alarm clock (birdlife) for breakfast then the unforgettable journey to Maasai Mara Game Reserve via Narok and Olkurruk, where the Maasai culture is displayed by the Oloo Lolo Maasai Cultural Association and thereafter into the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Being the northern stretch of the world famous Serengeti National park, it is the scene of the teeming wildebeest and zebra migration. On arrival relax by the pool. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mara Fig Tree Camp.

DAY 6: MAASAI MARA
Morning and afternoon game drives are provided. Among the wildlife seen are wildebeest, black rhino, cheetah, giraffe, elephant, great herds of antelope and fascinating primates such as the red-tailed monkey. Game drives in open land rovers and bush walks with excellent resident guides and naturalists reveal the wonders of the Mara in an interpretative experience for you. All meals and overnight at Mara Fig Tree Camp.

DAY 7: MAASAI MARA - KISUMU
Depart early from Maasai Mara after breakfast via Lolgorien, Kilgoris, Sondu and into Kisumu City to check in at Kiboko Bay Beach Resort for dinner and overnight. BB basis.

DAY 8: KISUMU - KOGELO - KIT MIKAYE - KISUMU
After an early breakfast from Kisumu, depart to Siaya District, Nyang'oma Division, Kogelo Village to visit the Kenyan home of the President of the United States of America, His Excellency President Barrack Hussein Obama. We will get to interact with the people in the home including his Grand Mother, Mama Sarah Obama who may be very busy for us as she has been appointed as an envoy as a goodwill ambassador against malnutration by Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro - Algae Spirulina Against Malnutration (IIMAM) and the sarounding. We will have time to visit the graveyard of Obama snr. After this visit, you will then depart to "Kit Mikaye" (in the local Luo language the Stone of the "first wife") Kenya’s most dramatic archaeological site, a vast granite rock tower. The stone is about 70 to 80 ft tall and is located 30 kms Far East of Kisumu city and 1 km from Kisumu Bondo road. The legend has it that long time ago, there was an old man by the name Ngeso who was fascinated with this Stone as every morning he could climb into the cave and stay there meditating the whole day. When his wife was asked where the old man was, she could reply that he was with the "first wife" hence the Stone of the first wife. Over the years this place has become holy and many people go there for prayers and seek cleansing. You will get more stories on site through a local guide and also you will get to know the attachment of this Stone to the Luo Tribe which is the tribe of Obama senior. After this intriguing adventure, you will drive back to Kisumu time allowing you could enjoy optionally boat ride at an extra cost. Dinner and overnight at Kiboko Bay Resort.

DAY 9: KISUMU - KERICHO - NAIROBI
After breakfast in your accommodation in Kisumu, you depart to Kericho for tea plantation tour before you proceed to Nairobi arriving in the evening to end your holiday.

The rest of the days in Nairobi can be spent with an option to:
* see traditional dancers at the Bomas of Kenya,
* visit the nearby Nairobi National Park,
* visit the Karen Blixen Museum,
* see the animals at the orphanage/Nairobi safari walk,
* shop in the bustling metropolis of the city.
